4.3 Numerical Solution Procedure for the General Case
In the general case of multiple, concurrent, contaminant loss routes,
an analytical solution to Equation 4.4 is not always possible. The
reasons for this are similar to those discussed for the contaminated aquifer
source zone (e.g., complex NAPL partitioning theory, time-varying parameters).
The numerical solution algorithm is identical to that described in Section
3.3 (for the contaminated aquifer), so the reader is referred there for
details.
